Developing a Balanced ScoreCard for Business and Government

In 1998 Robert Kaplan and David Norton developed and published one of the most effective toolsets for managing organizational performance. The Balanced ScoreCard evaluates performance from four basic perspectives, Customer, Financial, Internal Processes and Learning and Growth. By utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to reflect the performance of the organization at a variety of levels, the Balanced ScoreCard allows organizations to better understand, communicate and improve on organizational performance.
